About

My story and journey

with Fernanda Reschke

I am a daughter, a wife, a sister, an, auntie, a dancer, a teacher, a friend, and a therapist. I have always been fascinated by the human experience — how people survive, adapt, make meaning, and find their way through life.

I am originally from Brazil and have a background in arts, movement, somatic practices, natural therapies, and cross-cultural work.
My work is deeply influenced by my background in dance and movement, which shaped the way I understand people.

I see the human experience as something that lives not only in the mind, but also in the body, in emotions, in relationships, and in the ways we find meaning and connection in the world. Having lived between cultures for many years and as an immigrant myself, I understand the complexity of belonging, identity, adaptation, and building a life between different worlds. This has deeply influenced my work and helped me develop a strong respect for different ways of living, believing, healing, and understanding the world.

My journey into this profession was deeply personal.

My own life experiences and challenges first led me to therapy, a decision that profoundly changed my life. Through that process of self-discovery and healing, I developed not only a deeper understanding of myself, but also a deep respect for the courage it takes to look inward.

Along the way, I began questioning many social expectations and systems that shape how we think we should live, and this eventually led me to become a therapist and support others as they navigate their own paths.

Nature, spirituality, and connection are important parts of how I understand healing and wellbeing.

I believe many people today feel disconnected — from themselves, from their bodies, from community, and from the natural world — and that part of the therapeutic process is often about slowly rebuilding those connections.

I have deep respect for Indigenous knowledge and for ways of understanding health and healing that see humans as part of a larger system that includes land, ancestors, community, and spirit.

I see therapy as a respectful and supportive space where healing and transformation can unfold over time. I often think of therapy as walking together through the woods of your inner world.

Sometimes the path is clear, sometimes it is not, and sometimes we need to stop, rest, or find a new direction. My role is not to tell you where to go, but to walk alongside you, helping you notice patterns, obstacles, and possibilities that may be difficult to see when you are alone.

I am always aware that when someone shares their story, their fears, their pain, and their hopes with me, they are trusting me with very vulnerable parts of their life, and I do not take that lightly.

Therapy, for me, is a space where you do not need to perform or have everything figured out, but a space where we can be curious, honest, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes relieved, and slowly move towards a life that feels more aligned, more connected, and more like your own.
